This morning we had a lot of plans – stroll with the dog, trip to the library, then go get the groceries, nap for S and then a trip to the beach. Do I have to say that changed? (What are plans for, right?) We ended up playing at home for most of the day, and then took a quick stroll down to the park (the “Duck Park”) at Venice canals. It still surprises me how dark it gets relatively early – and how cold. OK, chilly… (I try to think of those people living in colder parts of US and world). We left the park earlier than planned (ha!), walked fast to get some dinner and then literally ran to the beach to get a few pictures of the sunset while waiting for the food to be ready. We had fun, and I got to play with my new camera some more (I did have to be fast with two kids running around)…
- There was a single flower on this magnolia tree (I don’t know trees- but that’s the one without leaves). I couldn’t resist.
- I have many pictures of the canals. Interestingly, there are people who have lived in LA area for a long time (some their whole life) and have never heard of the canals.
- Just another front yard display. Lovely.
- If you are ever in Venice, somwhere on a street, close to houses, look up. I just noticed this recently, after living here a while – there are so many wires going between poles and hanging from poles to houses… It looks messy, really. I don’t think I have ever seen it like that in other neighborhoods – or maybe I have never looked up? Sometimes, I wonder, in case of an earthquake, or a storm, if one of the poles should break, there would be wires everywhere. Not a happy thought. Moving on…
- I like the reflection on the row of windows. If you asked me what that building was, I wouldn’t now. And how many times have I walked by it? Shame…
- It is easy to photograph sunsets here. Especially in the fall/winter. My favorite time of year…
